About the Jury Member

Arzu Asgarli holds a Master’s degree in Piano from the Baku Music Academy. Developing her musical talents from an early age, she has achieved significant success in both national and international piano competitions. Throughout her education and career, she has specialized in piano performance and music pedagogy.

Among her notable achievements are second prize at the Hafiz Kerimov Competition in Baku in 2004, first prize at the Qara Qarayev Competition in 2008, and the Grand Prix at the international Grand Pianist competition in Barcelona. In 2014, she won first prize at the Istanbul International Pera Festival, further solidifying her international recognition. Additionally, she has received numerous awards, including second prize at the Duo Competition in Rostov-on-Don, first prize at the Islamic World Competition in Baku, and first prize at the Musiki Günü Competition in Baku in 2023.
In her artistic career, she has served as a concertmaster for the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater Ballet Troupe, collaborating with choreographers to integrate music and performing arts. She has also contributed to contemporary music by performing works of young composers with major symphony orchestras, enriching the modern music repertoire.

In 2019, she successfully performed her solo concert “Ad Libitum” at the Azerbaijan National Conservatory. She has reached wider audiences through various television programs and cultural-art projects while actively mentoring young musicians. Notable among her organized events are “Affetto” and “Carnival of Pianists,” both of which highlight her dedication to music education and performance.

Since 2018, Arzu Asgarli has been working as a piano instructor and concertmaster of the Folk Instruments Department at the Azerbaijan National Conservatory.
